Steve Jobs and how I see it

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 6, 2011, 2:05 AM
I'm quite sure that most of you have already heard about the death of Steve Jobs. It surely is a sad day for a world and most people will miss him, even if they didn't like apple products or Apple all together. However, it is sad to see how many people are making fun of his death and saying that PC will win now or whatever. Can't one of the most innovative persons have a day of peace?
I never was a fan of Mac and I only used it when it was really needed. I liked the overall feel of Mac but at the same time I never wanted one for myself. Mostly because of the price, some certain features and because of the fact that I was just too lazy to relearn some of the things that you have to learn when you go from PC to Mac.
I might have not been a fan of Mac but I sure was a fan of Steve Jobs. About a year or two ago I did a research about Steve Jobs in my university and I found some interesting facts about him and his ideas. And at the same time I found how shallow can people be about him. I think you all know the feeling when people talk about something with great hate but at the same time you can understand and feel that they don't know much about the thing they hate. And it makes you... not even angry but sad.
Steve Jobs surely was an icon and a legend of our world. He was a Valley kid who dropped out of college because he couldn't just understand why he should spend his parents money to do something like this. It was a time of discovery and soul search. He traveled to India to find answers to his questions and came back, maybe with not the answers that he was looking for, but the knowledge of other things.
He was a great man who had some unique techniques to get the work done in the office. He named one of his computers after his daughter Lisa and soon after he had to leave Apple.
He then worked on projects like NeXT and PIXAR, both of them were a success story in some ways, like most of the things he did. After Apple was at its lowest point, they took Steve back and then most of that we know of now happened.
They invented iPod (in my opinion the most important thing behind Mac's success), iPhone, iMovie, iPad etc.
First time when Steve stepped down because of his illness was in 2009 when Apple had to survive without him for 6 months. Most Mac fanboys were worried as was rest of the world.
When his cancer was discovered then first doctors gave him only about 6 months to live. Later they found out that its one of the rare kind of cancers that can be cured.
Fortunately Steve came back and it was full steam ahead from there. They came out with many great inventions.
Unfortunately it didn't last too long and now, today, we lost one of our legends, Steve Jobs. R.I.P
For all of you who weren't fans of him or his products, I ask you to read a bit about him and his work, before you say anything bad about this man. Don't pick arguments about Mac vs PC or Jobs vs Gates before you don't know about their relationships.
As said before, R.I.P Steve Jobs.

Yesterday when I learned his death, I saw on facebook a lot of hate going on and I asked myself essentially the same thing you did "Can't we just look at what ONE man accomplished and give him the respect he deserves?" Somebody answered that it wasn't that simple. It really is.

Steve Jobs was a visionnary and a good man. R.I.P.
