Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Thinking about Pixel Art and stuff

I felt that I should post something here as I haven't done it for quite some time now. So, here it goes.

I haven't been around here for couple of months now. It seems that its part of my deviantART experience as I tend to disappear here a lot. My activity here comes somewhat as waves. At one point I'm active and then suddenly I'm gone again. I don't know why I do this but it seem to be a best way for me. I still do read all the messages and stuff like this, I just don't post much journals or submit deviations.

Now, I have been thinking about my activity here and I think that I have to decide where I want to go with this. So far I have mainly submitted deviations about web design, photography and pixel art.

It seems to me that most people follow me because of my pixel art and pixel art tutorials. So there is no way to stop doing it. I know what you want and I want to offer it to you. However I haven't had the mood to do it recently.

But, I have been thinking about it a lot recently and I think that I know what I should do next. I will most probably also add some things to my tutorials to make them easier to understand. I'm still testing some stuff but overall I know what I want.

Now, we are left with web design and photography.

Photography has almost always been the 3rd choice for me, basically not so important when it comes to deviantART. Most probably I will keep it like that. But I have worked hard to understand photography better. I have read many articles and things start to make sense for me. However, I probably won't post any pictures, or at least not many.

And now web design. I have been away from it for some time now, over a year I think. And now I feel that I want to go back to it and that is what I will do. I'm ready to create some stuff again.
